Junko Enoshima from Dangarompa-Final Project

This project was brutal. It was one of the hardest project that I did for 2d animation. I drew the character in Autodesk Sketch book. Photoshop crap out on me due to the recent update on Windows 10. I drew the eyes right on After Effects as I could control them better. The lips were the hardest part. I animated the character with parent-child connection on the layers. The skirt and hair was animated with the puppet tool. I loved the effect it had on the hair.

Junko Enoshima is the villain of the Dangarompa games and anime. She wants to fill the world with nothing but dispair. The song is called Tsubasa wo Kudasai and it is featured in the anime.

Autodesk Sketchbook student version

Sailor music video-Kinetic Typography

For the Kinetic Typography project we had to use After Effects and the type tool to follow the lyrics to a song of our choosing. I chose to use my favorite anime's theme song for its English dub-Sailor Moon. I experimented with the 3d shapes to create the planets of our solar system. I used what I believe to be the CC bubble effect for the stars. The planets are brighten with a glow effect that is super awesome. I used the camera shape to pan around the planets.

For the text I used the animate effect with blur and color change effects. This was the hardest part since I haven't really played with type in After Effects. This was a challenge. I drew the Sailor Moon figure with Coral Painter 2017.

Tools I used
After Effects

Bounceing ball in After effects

This was a fun project. I had already done a bouncing ball for 3d animation using Maya but for this one I got to do it in my favorite program. I decided to use a shadow on the ball so the audience could tell when it touched the ground. I used a gradient for both the sky and ground layers. I drew a rock that the ball could bounce off of. The only part I didn't like is it turns into a Frisbee when it bounces of the rock.

Tools I used
Coral painter 2017
Adobe After Effect 2018
Wacom Cinq

Dog Picking up a bone-Weight Project

This project was not my greatest in my opinion. I haven't worked in Adobe Animate that much and I pretty much suck at drawing. In this project I animated my dog to grab and try to eat a big bone. The bone was the easiest to draw since I reference a product image on Amazon of a raw hide bone meant for big dogs.

Tools used
Adobe Animate 2018

Welcome to prime time death scene-Rotoscope

Nightmare on Elm Street is one of my favorite horror series. For this project I decided to do a Rotoscope of one of the death scenes. The female character falls asleep and is draged by Freddy Kruger into a TV that is hung on the wall.

Stop Motion animation: Clicky the Machivious TV remote

Clicky the mischievous TV Remote
By Mikaela Arnold

For this assignment, I brought my original character, Clicky, to life . I used two programs to create this animation- Adobe Photoshop CC 2018 and Adobe After Effects CC  2018. I also used my  Wacom 22 HD Cinq tablet, I first opened up Photoshop and created  a small document that is the size of a index card. I first drew a background  with the Wacom tablet.
The background is placed on a separate layer with the line outlines. I put the main character on a different layer and the elements that move are put on their own layers. There are two door layers- one opened and one close. I exported the file to a png file each time I moved the character. In all, I had 14 storyboards that were imported After Effects. I first rendered a version with just the storyboard, next I downloaded sound effects and ambiance noise.

For the second version of this video I colored the whole set with Adobe Illustrator CC 2018 useing the line art drawing I made with Photoshop. I decided to focus on the animation principle of anticipation.

Updated video

Stop-Motion animation Excercise

A ball in a outside environment

This project was a challenging but cool assignment. Instead of using Dragonform we used After Effects and Lightroom. This was a welcome surprise since I have experience in both of these programs.

My concept
Frame 1 of version 2

I wanted the ball to have a realistic environment. I used white for the sky, green for the grass, yellow for the sun, and brown for the tree trunk. The first step was to sketch out the environment which was done on day one. On day two, I composed the environment with construction paper. On day three and four,  I took photos of the ball as it traveled to the tree. My mom help me to position the ball inch by inch. The result had 24 frames that were placed in Adobe After Effects to combine them into one video sequence. I loved how it came out. I developed two versions of the animation. I had to use the flash on my camera because the environment had poor lighting.
